  1. Where is the Myrtle Beach Safari tour located?
    The Myrtle Beach Safari tour is located on our 50 acre preserve in Myrtle Beach, SC. It is about 15 miles south of T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing. Exact directions will ONLY be given to those who have tour reservations. For the privacy and safety of our animals, our tour address is not published and will not be given out.

  2. How do I get the $50.00 discount for the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    Every guest wishing to receive the $50.00 discount must participate in our T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter (located inside of Barefoot Landing), prior to making your Myrtle Beach Safari tour reservation. By participating in this encounter, and through the additional purchase of your photo upload, you will receive a $50.00 discount per person off of the Myrtle Beach Safari tour. Your upload will contain a code that may be used at the time of your Myrtle Beach Safari tour reservation in order to receive your discount. This $50.00 discount will only be applied to guests that have personally participated in our T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter and whom have purchased their photo upload. (IMPORTANT: You must participate in the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter and the Myrtle Beach Safari tour during the same operating season in order to receive discount. Purchasing your CD of the Myrtle Beach Safari tour does NOT entitle you to this discount).

  3. I am looking to see a particular animal on the tour. When can I be sure that it will be there? When can I see the babies?
    The Myrtle Beach Safari tour will always have a wide variety of incredible Animal Ambassadors ranging from tiger cubs, wolf pups, apes and animals you've never even heard of. We guarantee you will love your experience and create remarkable memories that will last a lifetime. We cannot assure that any particular animal will be on the tour as the animals always volunteer to come out and the health and safety of our animals always comes first.

  4. How do I find out whether a particular day is available for the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    Please visit Tour Details to view our current operating season calendar. Unavailable tour dates will be blacked out, (this calendar may not be compatible with internet explorer). Myrtle Beach Safari tours generally operate 4 days a week from mid-March thru mid-October. You can also visit our front desk at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station to speak with a tour coordinator and make a reservation in person.

  5. If I'm coming for the tour, where should I stay?
    We are located in Myrtle Beach about 15 minutes from the airport, any hotel within Myrtle Beach or Surfside Beach is within 20 minutes of our facility. We recommend the Hampton Inn at Broadway at the Beach, (843)916-0600. They have a discount for those going on our tour so make sure you mention us.

  6. How old do you have to be to participate in the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    The minimum age for the tour is 6 years of age. This is due to the amount of time and attention needed to really enjoy the experience. The tour tends to be too long and contain too many necessary instructions for younger children. However any age can visit our public location T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing, where they will also have the opportunity to interact with animals.

  7. Is the Myrtle Beach Safari tour handicapped accessible?
    Unfortunately the Myrtle Beach Safari tour does not have the capacity to accommodate wheel chairs or walkers. The preserve is subject to the forces of nature and has uneven ground, logs, sand, and uphill terrain. You must be able to walk/stand for 20 minutes and make your way up a flight of approximately 20 steps. Needing assistance of a cane and/or family member would be fine.

  8. Can I swim with the tigers?
    During the Myrtle Beach Safari tour guests will have the opportunity to watch the trainers swim with the tigers. This is not something that we can allow the public to do. Bathing suits are NOT required on the tour.

  9. How many days in advance do I need to make a reservation for the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    If you are looking for a particular day, we recommend making your reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. However, you can reserve your tour as far in advance as you'd like. Please visit Tour Details to view our current operating season calendar. Unavailable tour dates will be blacked out, (this calendar may not be compatible with internet explorer). Myrtle Beach Safari tours generally operate 4 days a week from mid-March thru mid-October.

  10. What day is the Myrtle Beach Safari tour the least crowded?
    Tours are generally more popular during the summer months and holidays. No matter the size of the tour, it is an intimate experience. We adjust the time you spend with the animals accordingly so every tour gets the same experience.

  11. What do you do if it's raining on the day of the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    The tour will operate rain or shine. A large majority of the tour is covered and we have the capacity to move portions of it inside if needed. We do have complimentary umbrellas available, but we recommend that if it is raining that you bring your own rain jacket/poncho and wear clothing you do not mind getting a little damp in.

  14. How can I make a Myrtle Beach Safari tour reservation?
    If you are ready to make a reservation, please visit Tour Details to reserve online. You can also make your reservation in person at T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station located inside of Barefoot Landing; this will give you the opportunity to receive a $50.00 discount off of your Myrtle Beach Safari tour.

  15. What are the Photo CD and DVD (combo) for the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    Your Myrtle Beach Safari tour will be documented by our professional photographers and videographer. The Photo CD/DVD (combo) of your tour will be available for purchase at the time of your original reservation as well as at the end of your tour (price is increased by $25 if purchased at the end of your tour).
    Cell phones and cameras are NOT allowed during the Myrtle Beach Safari tour and must be left in your vehicle. By attending the Myrtle Beach Safari tour you will get one complimentary 8X10 photo of your choice (this is per photo group, not per person).
    • PHOTO CD info:
      The Photo CD will be a digital photo album of you and the animals you interact with on the tour. Each guest will get a minimum of 25-50 digital photographs of them interacting with our animal ambassadors. It includes incredible photos of your group with the animals as well as individual portraits. We also include candid shots of your day and photos of the animals themselves. You end up with over one hundred photos that you have the right to reproduce as long as it is not for commercial purposes like ads, billboards, movie or television.
    • DVD info:
      The professional Video DVD will have live footage of your day at the Myrtle Beach Safari. This will have everyone from the tour that day in it, not just your photo group. It is a great way to show friends and family the fun activities you experienced at the Myrtle Beach Safari. It also features behind the scenes footage of our conservation projects through The Rare Species Fund. DVD will also include endearing stories about many of our animal ambassadors, and the incredible relationships and bonds they have formed with each other, their human companions, and trainers. These stories include the unlikely friendship of: Suryia the Orangutan and Roscoe the hound dog, Bubbles the African Elephant and her beloved friend Bella the black lab, Anjana the Chimp and two white tiger cubs she raised, as well as the tale of our amazing Ligers in a short documentary about their lives.
    • The cost of the Photo CD/DVD Combo (this is a package, the discs cannot be purchased separately) is based on the number of people in your photo group. The base price is $150.00 for the first person and an additional $25.00 for each additional person in your photo group. This gives everyone in your photo group rights to copy and use the CD and DVD for non-commercial use. (Example: photo group of 4 costs $225.00)

  16. How long is the tour, when do we need to arrive and when should we expect to be done?
    You will need to be at the preserve for the Myrtle Beach Safari tour no later than 9:00am. The tour will begin at 10:00am and will last approx. 3 hours. As you will have the opportunity to look through all of the photos taken of your family/group and choose the one(s) you would like to have printed, exact time of departure will vary from group to group. If you have somewhere that you need to be after the tour and need to leave by a certain time please let our staff know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  17. What discounts do you offer? (Group, Local, Military etc.?)
    We offer a $50.00 discount to each guest that has participated in our T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter with the purchase of their photo upload. (please refer to question #2). Sunny Day also offers a $20.00 off coupon for our Myrtle Beach Safari tour. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any deeper discounts than the ones that we already offer.   18. I'm pregnant, is it OK for me to take the Myrtle Beach Safari tour?
    Expecting mothers are permitted to take the tour. This is an outside tour; Individuals should keep in mind high weather temperatures (summer months). During the tour you will be expected to sit on the ground for animal interactions, walk up and back down a flight of 20 steps, be able to stand/walk for 15-20 minutes at a time. You will be perfectly fine on our tour.

  19. Will there be restrooms at the Myrtle Beach Safari?
    Yes there are restrooms available on the property.

  20. Will there be hands on animal interaction on the tour? What animals will I get to touch?
    Our Myrtle Beach Safari is fully interactive. You will get to meet, pet, and hold a large variety of our animal ambassadors. The animals on your tour will vary depending upon the day and the time of year but you will always get to spend time with our tiger babies, hang out with our monkeys or apes and meet exotic animals you've probably never even heard of before.

  21. What if we want to have more interaction with a particular animal, or an animal that wasn't on the tour?
    We offer some incredible personal/private encounters. One of our guests long standing favorites is to swim with Bubbles the elephant in the inter-coastal waterway on the edge of the preserve. You may want to spend more one on one time with the cubs, have an adventure through the forest or paint with our great apes. These encounters start at $5,000.
